A go-getter with a paper route as a kid, Karen’s love of numbers directed her toward the study of accounting in college. Always the entrepreneur, Karen owned and operated a house cleaning business for a decade before meeting her husband Aaron, a personal trainer, at the local gym.
Sharing many interests, including self-employed backgrounds, the couple earned their real estate agent licenses at the same time. After a year working with a small company on the Eastside, in 1999 they joined forces with Windermere Woodinville.
During those first five years with Windermere, Karen and Aaron worked as separate agents. Karen served as a relocation expert, working with clients such as Microsoft. In this role she forged many long-term relationships and learned how to communicate with clients from different cultures. Since 2004, Karen and Aaron have worked as a team at Windermere, offering buyers and sellers a wealth of experience and complementary sets of strengths.
These days, many early clients continue to use Karen as their agent as well as refer her to their friends. Karen’s other main source of clients come through her active volunteer life at her children’s schools, church and running club. Through her community service, people get to know Karen as a hard worker, trustworthy and responsible.
Karen’s business ethic of honesty, integrity and hard work, reflects her family values. The mother of two young daughters, Karen is grateful for the abundance of friends and acquaintances she and Aaron have made through the business. She also loves real estate because it allows her to work as a full-time agent and as a full-time mom.
When not working, enjoying her family or volunteering, Karen can be found running long distances up to 30 miles – at a time!
Karen’s keys to success?
“When running I enjoy pushing through the ups and downs similar to the path of a real estate transaction,” says Karen. “It can get bumpy, but through hard work and energy, we will get to the ultimate goal!”
